Coastal's real estate development business operates as Coastal Greenland Limited ("CGL") under parent company CIH. CGL was founded in 1990 in Hong Kong and was listed on the main board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 1997. It is currently engaging in urban renewal projects and residential, office and retail development. 

The pursuit of excellence alongside its stakeholders and customers has remained a core value at CGL over the past two decades. Large-scale residential, office and retail projects have been developed across all of Greater China’s five key economic regions, including in cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Tianjin, Dongguan, Chengdu, Dalian, and Shenyang, among others, enabling CGL to establish a strong operating track record and a solid interregional management system. Its three unique braded series—"Coastal Riviera", "Coastal International Centre" and "Coastal Silo City"—have been successfully replicated across many cities.

In 2015, CGL was honored by the PRC's State Administration for Industry & Commerce with the title of "China Well-Known Trademark". Further, it was awarded the title of "China Top 10 Most Valuable Real Estate Companies" for thirteen consecutive years between 2004 and 2017, "China Top 100 Real Estate Companies" for fourteen consecutive years between 2005 and 2017, "China Top 50 Listed Real Estate Companies for Overall Competitiveness" for five consecutive years between 2012 and 2016, "China Blue Chip Real Estate Company" for three consecutive years between 2007 and 2009, "Industry Contribution Award" by Boao 21st Century Real Estate Forum in 2005, and the "United Nations Habitat Business Award for Sustainable Urbanization" in 2008 and 2009.
